How the Tygart Hotel Engages with Businesses
By: Shane Jones, General Manager of Tygart Hotel & Oxley House Cocktail Bar & Restaurant
At the Tygart Hotel, we believe in the power of local partnerships. Supporting small businesses not only enhances our guest experience but also strengthens our community by showcasing the best of what Appalachia has to offer. From the coffee we serve to the meats on our menu, each collaboration tells a story of quality, sustainability, and local pride.
A Perfect Brew: Mountain Table Coffee
Our partnership with Mountain Table Coffee began with a simple conversation about how we could create a branded coffee that represents the Tygart Hotel, our restaurant, and a commitment to quality partnerships. Mountain Table, a small coffee roaster in Renick, WV, focuses on organically grown, fairly traded products packaged in 100% compostable materials.
The result? The “Tygart Community Blend,” a dark roast coffee that offers robust flavors designed to complement both a morning boost and a relaxing evening. Guests can enjoy this exceptional blend during breakfast at the hotel, savor it in our restaurant paired with the perfect dessert, or purchase a bag from our marketplace to take home. Once we tasted Mountain Table’s coffee, skipping the standard commercial brands was an easy choice. If you’re looking to elevate your coffee experience, give Mountain Table a try—you won’t be disappointed.
Sweet Mornings: Byrd’s House of Donuts
What pairs better with the Tygart Community Blend than a fresh donut? Thanks to our partnership with Byrd’s House of Donuts, guests can enjoy some of the best donuts in the region, made fresh every morning. Located just down the road from the Tygart Hotel, Byrd’s House of Donuts is a locally owned and operated bakery that takes pride in crafting delicious treats.
Whether you’re in the mood for a seasonal pumpkin spice donut, a classic glazed, or a rich cream-filled delight, you’re in for a treat. And before you check out, consider grabbing a dozen to take home—you’ll be glad you did.
Farm-Fresh Excellence: Charm Farm Market & Butcher
At the Oxley House Cocktail Bar & Restaurant, we believe that fresh, locally sourced ingredients make all the difference. That’s why we’ve partnered with Charm Farm Market & Butcher, located on Georgetown Road, with a market store on South Davis Avenue in Elkins. This partnership allows us to feature high-quality, locally raised meats that are delivered fresh to our kitchen daily.
From lamb shanks and beef short ribs to the freshest steaks in the area, our executive chef, Carlos Ramirez, and his culinary team prepare each cut to perfection. The weekly butcher cut is a must-try menu item, showcasing the incredible flavors of responsibly sourced Appalachian meats.
A Floral Touch: Three Little Buds
The ambiance of our hotel and restaurant wouldn’t be complete without the stunning floral arrangements that grace our dining tables and lobby. For that, we turn to Three Little Buds, a small floral business in Buckhannon, WV, that provides locally and sustainably grown flowers.
Each week, their team delivers fresh blooms for our staff to arrange into breathtaking centerpieces. If you’re planning an event with us, let us collaborate with Three Little Buds to create beautiful floral decorations that elevate the atmosphere.
Craft Brews: Big Timber Brewing
Featuring the “Tygart Rising” at our on-site cocktail bar, guests can enjoy this delicious brown ale brewed exclusively for the Tygart Hotel. On draft alongside three other rotating selections throughout the year, Big Timber Brewing delivers fresh, high-quality craft beer straight to our guests. If you’re looking for a cold can to take back to your room, our wide selection includes various Big Timber brews, from Porters and IPAs to Blonde Ales, Lagers, and seasonal offerings.
Located just a block from the Tygart Hotel, Big Timber Brewing has been an incredible partner, ensuring that our cocktail bar at the Oxley House always has the finest locally brewed beer available. Whether you’re unwinding at the bar or grabbing a drink to take back to your room, you can experience the quality of Big Timber Brewing firsthand.
